The Brief
Bowmore refreshed its core range packaging to better reflect the brand’s coastal heritage while elevating the premium shelf presence of the cartons.
The Challenge
The redesign required a highly tactile finish, with a detailed sea-inspired texture and a fine fluted foil dragon representing the brand icon.
At the same time, the material specification was changing from an uncoated recycled board to a premium smooth cartonboard, requiring careful control of emboss detail and foil definition.
The Solution
Beamglow produced the cartons using a premium board manufactured using bioenergy with an almost zero fossil carbon footprint.
The design incorporates multi-level emboss and deboss textures to replicate the movement of the sea, combined with a fine fluted hot foil sea dragon engineered to hold intricate scale and flame detail.
The smooth board surface allowed the foil and emboss work to deliver a crisp, high-definition finish across production volumes.
